Sterling Studios

I work as an in house illustrator and designer for Sterling Studios, a decretive arts company. I work with established designers to create intricate artwork for applied surfaces within the field of interior design.

Russel Sage Studio

This piece was for a project working with Russel Sage, an interior design studio for a luxury restaurant opening in London. The menu was Australian inspired so the illustration had to comprise only of native Australian flowers in keeping with the theme. The design was then printed onto antiqued glass and displayed throughout the restaurant, giving a naturalistic appearance.

Chelsea Harbour Design Show

I illustrated a set of three panels for the 2024 London design week at the Chelsea Harbour Design Show, a leading trade show which presents 120 showrooms across a five day exhibition, these pieces were representing Sterling Studio. The middle image shows how they were printed, on wallpaper with embossed leather panels below.

I Love Colour Studio - Lacquered Chinoiserie Cabinet

These cabinet doors were created for ‘I love colour studios’ an interior design studio, for a residential space. This is a good example of the kinds of work I have to create for Sterling Studios, replicating ancient techniques and digitally designing and printing them to appear traditional. In this piece I had to replicate a Japanese technique where metallic powders are scattered onto wet lacquer to create a design, I created softness by using a pixilated brush to mimic the powder. The artwork is below and the printed cabinet doors are above.

Cardin Coniette- Ceiling piece

This piece was created for a design studio called Cardin Coniette for a residential ceiling piece with a sky light centred within it. I designed it in the style of Japanese chinoiserie and it was printed onto Lacquer.

Arabic Living Room Panels

This was a wall elevation I designed and illustrated for a residential oriental living room in Casablanca made up of 5 glass panels. In order to achieve the perfect Arabic designs I had to draw up the majority of the patterns in Turbo Cad then finish the textures off in Photoshop. They were printed onto glass with crushed foil behind them to give a luxurious feel.

Mcquin Partnership - Cherry Blossom Bar cabinet

I worked with Mcquin Partnership to design this piece for a bar cabinet in a residential house, I used various brushes to create an antiqued appearance.

A selection of samples, designs, illustrations styles and techniques I have created for sterling studios.
