ART IN THE ARCHES

I worked with Moniker Culture and Vauxhall One on ‘Art in the Arches’ which was a call out to artists to fill the unused train arches in Vauxhall.

The brief was ‘Love Different’ - I wanted to pay homage to Vauxhall’s infamous history which has had a large impact and influence on today’s creative and diverse communities. The focus of my piece was the Vauxhall pleasure gardens, which were held in the park near the arches and defined Londons nightlife in the 18th and 19th centuries. They had strong links with the LGBT and creative communities which is still prominent today, I wanted to represent this in my piece.
